Burch Memorial Preschool will be closed when a Severe, Extreme or Code Red fire danger rating day is determined. in any Bureau of Meteorology district.
Burch Memorial PreSchool has been identified as being at high bushfire risk and listed on the DET Bushfire At-Risk Register.
We realise that closing our Preschool may result in you having to make alternative care arrangements for your child, but the safety of our children and staff remains our top priority.
We will take all possible steps to ensure our community is aware of the closure. If a preschool session will not be operating due to Severe, Extreme or Code Red weather conditions you will be notified by the following:
- If a 'potential' closure day is in sight, your Preshool teacher will place a notice at the sign-in book earlier in the week.
- If the closure if confirmed, you will receive a text message by 5pm the night prior confirming the closure.
(please note: you will be required to respond to this message promptly).
- A message will be sent out to families via Flexi-Buzz confirming the closure.
- Our staffing team will display posters advising of the closure at the entrance.
Once confirmed, the decision to close will not change, regardless of improvements in the weather forecast. This is to avoid confusion and help your family plan alternative care arrangements for your child.
